Your complete guide to Cam Ranh International Airport
Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) is the main gateway to Nha Trang and the Khánh Hòa coast in south-central Vietnam. This independent passenger guide gathers everything you need in one place — how to get to and from the airport, what taxis and private transfers cost, where to rent a car or park, and what to expect on arrival and departure. Our aim is to make your journey through CXR clear and stress-free, whether you are arriving for a beach holiday, island-hopping, or business.
About the airport
CXR sits on the Cam Ranh peninsula, about 35 km south of Nha Trang, roughly a 45-minute drive along the coastal road. It has two passenger terminals — one mainly for domestic flights and a newer terminal for international routes — handling flights to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese cities, plus international services from East Asia and beyond. Vietnam keeps Indochina Time (UTC+7) all year, and the currency is the Vietnamese dong (VND).
Getting from the airport to Nha Trang
Most travellers reach the city by road along the coast. The main options are:
- Airport taxis — from the rank outside arrivals; make sure the meter is running or agree the fare first (see our Cam Ranh airport taxi guide).
- Private transfers — pre-booked at a fixed price, with a driver waiting on arrival; ideal after a long flight or for groups (compare on our airport transfers page).
- Shuttle bus — the cheapest way into central Nha Trang.
- Grab (ride-hailing) and car with driver round out the choices.
At the airport
The terminals cover the essentials for arriving travellers: shops and duty-free, cafés and restaurants, currency exchange and ATMs, SIM-card and taxi counters, free Wi-Fi, and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. For live arrival and departure times, always check with your airline or the airport's official channels before you travel.
